Summary

Buddhify is a unique meditation app designed to integrate mindfulness into various aspects of daily life. Its innovative ‘wheel’ interface allows easy access to a wide range of guided meditations, catering to different situations and user needs, including options for children.
While it lacks some advanced features of more comprehensive meditation apps and is only available in English, its affordability and one-time payment model make it an attractive choice.
Buddhify is particularly suitable for those seeking a straightforward, no-subscription approach to mindfulness and meditation, offering good value for money and a user-friendly experience.

What Is Buddhify App?

The Buddhify app is said to be ‘the only meditation app designed to fit into a busy modern lifestyle.’ It provides the user with over 200 audio tracks of guided meditations for use in many different situations and environments. Users can learn mindfulness skills and it is designed to give users the ability to practice mindfulness on the go.

One thing that might interest you is that it is not a free app which means you need to pay to download it, and at the moment it is only available in English. If these are acceptable for you, keep reading the Buddhify app review.

Note: Buddhify works on most Android and iOS devices. Despite its name, Buddhify is not associated with Buddha and is free of any spiritual or religious content.

How to Use Buddhify?

Buddhify is based on a ‘wheel’ interface, a rainbow of colors with segments for any type of situation that will then open up suitable on-the-go meditations. You’ll find guided meditations for Walking, Stress & Difficult Emotion, Work Break, Going to Sleep, Waking Up and many other different categories. Enabling you to bring mindfulness and learn mindfulness as you go about your day-to-day life. Once you select a theme you want, you choose a specific meditation session.

Here are the key features of Buddhify.

1. Give

“Give” allows you to send a meditation to someone you care about, targeted to what you think they would most value. What they receive is a link to webpage where they can play the specific Buddhify meditation that you have chosen for them, for free and without needing to have the app.

2. Edit Mode

“Edit Mode” lets you customize and personalize your Buddhify wheel.

3. Solo Timer

The Solo Timer provides a simple timer for unguided meditation. You can pick a length, and you can enable interval sounds if you wish.

4. Favorites

Favorites allows you to set meditations and other content as your favorites so you can access them quickly without always having to go via the wheel.

5. Kids Wheel

Buddhify offers kids options with over 60 meditations led by mindfulness experts who help kids understand concepts such as “Going to Sleep,” “Calming Down,” “Feeling Better,” and “Growing Wisdom.”

How Much Does Buddhify App Cost?

As we mentioned previously, you’ll need to pay for the Buddhify app before installing it. This is rare in the world of meditation apps, which are usually free to install. Typically, with other apps, you’ll be able to access a limited selection of guided meditations, but you’ll need to pay a pricey monthly or annual subscription to access everything.

The good news is that the up-front cost of Buddhify is less than the monthly subscription for many other apps.

Now, Buddhify is available to buy through the iOS App Store (US$4.99 / GBP£4.99) and the Google Play Store (US$2.99 / GBP£2.99).

Buddhify also offers a subscription membership for $30 / £24 per year – cheaper than many other commercial apps.

Buddhify Reviews: Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • A variety of meditations (categories and length)
  • Offers kids options with over 60 meditations
  • Much cheaper than other meditation apps

Cons:

  • Buddhify is only available in English.
  • There is no free trial period for Buddhify.
  • You have to pay to download the app

Buddhify Reviews: Is Buddhify a Good App?

Buddhify is a great mindfulness tool for those interested in exploring ways to incorporate meditation into their lives or share their meditation practice with others. It has a very appealing design and users can potentially enjoy the different meditations offered for various situations.

However, if I can only choose and pay for one meditation app, I’ll still choose Headspace or Calm which has more comprehensive features. Also, though Buddhify is more affordable than other meditation apps that received higher quality scores, it does not provide users with a free trial.

All in all, Buddhify can be useful as a supplementary mindfulness meditation app for daily life.
