What is DoubleTake on OkCupid?

OkCupid’s DoubleTake feature shows you many more facets of a person – its shows more photos and highlights each person’s personality and profile within a mobile matching interface. It is not only how people look, but also what he/she does in real life. With a deeper look for a people, you will know whether you have common interests which leads to better date and better relationships.

How to Use DoubleTake

You can use Double Take both on the web and the app.

On the app,

You can view a member’s full profile from DoubleTake by tapping anywhere on the page.

Then, you can Like a profile by dragging the profile card to the right. Also, you can skip them by dragging the profile card to the left. You can see the people of list you like by tapping on the star icon in the bottom navigation row, and then on “You Like”.

On the web,

You can click “View Profile” to visit a member’s profile.

If someone catches your eye, you can Like a profile by clicking the stat icon. You can pass them by clicking the x icon. You can find people you’ve rated by clicking the “star” icon at the top of any page on OkCupid on the web.

When you are using DoubleTake, if you and another member both Like each other or slide each other’s photos into the ‘heart’ pile, then OkCupid will let both of you know for free.  

Please note that seeing a full list of people who Like you is an A-List only feature. If you are A-list, you will see the full list of people who like you as an extra tab next to the list of who you like. If not, you need to pay to upgrade, or you won’t know who Like you.

How Much DoubleTake will Cost

The DoubleTake feature is free. For free, you can search and view complete profiles and communicate with other members, which is hard to find among free online dating subscriptions.

If you’re looking to get more attention on OkCupid, however, paid subscriptions are available.

There are two forms of paid subscription for OkCupid: “A-List Basic” and “A-List Premium.” Here is a full breakdown of the available packages:

You can also pay to “Boost” your profile, which allows you to be seen first on Quickmatch, and to be shown more frequently in other users’ match results. A boost can be purchased at any time for $1.99, or you can purchase 5 boosts for $1.89 each, or 10 boosts for $1.69 each.

Bottom Line

OkCupid is the most affordable of the top online dating sites. You can use most of its “useful” features for free, including the “DoubleTake”. However, Okcupid is not as popular as Tinder which means that the user base of OkCupid is smaller than Tinder. Most users in Okcupid are from USA and India, so it would be not an ideal dating app for people from all over the world.
