StubHub Reviews
Summary
StubHub is a well-known ticket exchange and resale site, offering a wide range of event tickets. It’s a legitimate platform, but its reliability has been questioned, particularly regarding its refund policy during the pandemic.
The platform is easy to use for both buying and selling tickets, but the high fees can be a drawback. Customer service is accessible, though experiences may vary.
While StubHub provides convenience and a broad selection of tickets, users should be aware of potential issues with refunds and additional costs.
Overall, StubHub is useful but requires careful consideration of its policies and fees.
What Is StubHub
Founded in 2000 by Eric Baker and Jeff Fluhr, StubHub is claims to be the largest ticket exchange and resale site on the web today who sells millions of tickets each year to live events in over 50 countries.
Since 2007, StubHub has been a part of eBay. Since that time, eBay has made StubHub the core of its ticket reselling operation.
In 2016, StubHub completed the purchase of Ticketbis and expanded into new European markets.
On November 25,2019, eBay announced that the Company has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its StubHub to viagogo for a cash purchase price of $4.05 billion.
Is StubHub Legit
Yes, StubHub is a legit and safe ticket exchange platform (founded in 2000) for live events in over 50 countries. During the past 20 years, StubHub has developed a solid reputation for sending out the tickets.
Every ticket sold through StubHub comes with a guarantee which ensure that you will have the tickets in your hands in plenty of time for the event.
Is StubHub Reliable & Trusted
No. Just because StubHub is legitimate, that doesn’t mean that it is reliable.
- StubHub DOES NOT allow cancelations after your purchase.
- If your event is canceled, you can only get coupon instead of refund.
Due to the Coronavirus, many events are canceled or postponed. Previously, according to the StubHub’s“FanProtect Guarantee”,you’ll get refunds if the event is canceled and is not rescheduled. But now, StubHub changed their “policy” directly. If your event is canceled, you cannot get the refund. Instead, they give you a coupon worth 120% of your original order. You can apply this coupon toward multiple StubHub events in the same currency. Use the coupon before Dec. 31, 2021.
“In the middle of a global pandemic, they changed their policy to no longer offer full refunds, promising a 120% credit instead. The event I bought tickets for has been CANCELLED and they won’t even give me the credit, let alone the full refund that was guaranteed in the policy I purchased my ticket under.” – A user’s review in Google Play
“I purchased Rufus du Sol tickets, due to covid the concert was postponed and later cancelled. Upon my purchase and notice of postponement all communications indicated that if a concert was cancelled you could accept a full refund or a voucher of 120% of the ticket price. They changed that when my concert was canceled- I now have neither a refund nor a voucher (which I probably wouldn’t use since it expires next year and who knows what is going to happen.).” – A user’s review in ConsumerAffairs
How Does StubHub Work

How Much Are StubHub Fees
StubHub has the most inventory of any reseller, but it doesn’t always have the best deals because of its fees. They add significant fees when you check out so beware.
What are StubHub’s fees for buyers? What are StubHub’s seller fees?
In the first few years after StubHub started, buyer fees were always 10%, and seller fees were almost always 15%.
At the start of 2014, however, StubHub transitioned to showing all-in pricing. There is no set percentage for fees, and fees can change based on ticket price, time to event, updated event information, and supply and demand, and who knows what. Usually, you will be charge high fees for popular events. For example, Tickets to an NBA are about 32% service fees.
StubHub is constantly changing its buyer fees. Pay attention to what’s being charged. You can see the total price, including estimated fees, by using the filter and selecting Show prices with estimated fees.

StubHub Review Summary
In the final of the StubHub, I would say I don’t recommend StubHub.
Though StubHub is the largest tickets market for many events and it provide us convenience, they break a contract with their customers and refuse to offer refunds to the buyers during the Covid-19. They eat their word which a reliable company should not do.
